Let’s face it every house has mold. So when does it become a problem? The biggest problems are when moisture intrusions and
humidity go unnoticed/ unchecked. What you don’t want in your house is infestations or high counts of mold regardless of the type
of mold. Houses can have elevated levels of airborne mold spores without showing any visible signs of mold. Again testing, equipment
and expertise is your best offense and defense against mold. Even after a you/contractor has removed the moldy material mold
spore counts can still be high which will result in a re infestation if there is a food source and moisture in the air or surface.
Does your water damage company really understand mold? The main reason to get it dried out quick and by an Expert is to help
prevent substantial mold growth.

There
are many con(m)panies are doing dog toxic mold certifications.
Here is a list of my concerns to consider as you are
looking to take a leap of faith in the acute non qualitative or quantitative evidence of Fido’s nose:
In
case you haven't guessed we don't rely on the dog to tell us where to go but use air sampling in rooms, air cavities and moisture sensors, Infrared cameras,
data loggers and our training and experience to tell us where to go and what to do.
Air Sampling (mold trap) as listed
before can measure at that given time the types and quantity of mold in the air at a moment in time during sampling. The sample is
prepped and counted in a certified laboratory that specializes in Mold. Unlike some companies we use a smaller lab so they can
take time to look and relook at a given sample. My experience tells me this is the best way. Because it is the only test that
is qualitative and quantitative for air sampling. If you’re looking for a toxin test give me a call I will give you the number
to those that can run those test for you as well.
1. Is there more room for error?
2. Did you know there are 80,000 different molds is the dog trained for all these or just the
toxins for a few,
3. According to my understanding toxins are mostly produced as molds interact with each other
4. What if your
dog has a cold or the source is not detected by him. Is the mold dormant?
5. Toxin test are available however really expensive
running $800-$1400 a sample
6. Did you know even dead (non viable and non toxic) molds can be allergens and can cause serious respiratory
issues
7. There can be non-toxic molds still in high concentrations in the air that would be infectious although non toxic.
8.
Did you know that the microscope through air sampling gives quantitative and qualitative evidence of mold spores? Use that in stead
of or addition to Fido’s nose.
